Family law is an umbrella term that encompasses several areas of law, although the most common family law claims include divorce, child custody, child support, and adoption. However, “family law” also includes conservatorships, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, annulments, and orders of protection.

Estate planning encompasses the transfer of property at death, as well as a variety of other personal matters. Most commonly, the average person would seek an estate planning attorney to prepare a Last Will and Testament, as well as any accompanying documents that may be necessary, such as a Durable Power of Attorney, a Medical Power of Attorney or a Financial Power of Attorney (just to name a few). Larger estates often require more planning and documentation, and many times will include a Trust to distribute large amounts of real or personal property.

Civil litigation involves resolving legal disputes between individuals, businesses, or organizations. We represent clients through every stage of the process, working to protect their rights and pursue practical, effective solutions.

An appeal is an application to a higher court seeking to have a decision from a trial court reversed and/or remanded (meaning to be re-heard by the trial court). An appeal is available only where a trial court has already heard the case and issued a final decision on the merits of the case.
